Aileen Patricia Mcguire

Aileen Patricia McGuire, age 84, died on September 13, 2021. She was born on March 18, 1937, to James O’Brien and Aileen (Ryan) O’Brien.
Aileen (Pat) grew up in Brooklyn, New York. After the birth of her four children, she graduated from Rockland Community College in 1970 with an Associate of Arts, Dominican College of Blauvelt in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts, and Queens College in 1974 with a Master of Library Science. She worked as a librarian for Suffern Free library, Chase Manhattan Bank, and Lawler, Matusky and Skelly Engineers. She raised her family in Rockland County and moved after retirement to Carolina Meadows in Chapel Hill, NC.
She was active at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Spring Valley, New York for 47 years as a volunteer and lector. She loved reading and long walks and was devoted to her family.
Aileen (Pat) is survived by her four children, Mona Kuczenski and husband Ronald, Mary Savino, Maureen Bonanno and husband John, and William McGuire and wife Monica: nine grandchildren, Cristina, Alexa, Aileen, Jennifer, Caitlin, Christopher, Shannon, Christian and James; brothers Thomas and Peter; sisters Maureen, Kathleen, Margaret, and Clare; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James (Jim), parents James and Aileen O’Brien, and her brothers James and John O’Brien. She was very much loved and will be greatly missed.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, Chapel Hill, NC on Monday, September 20, 2021, at 11:00 AM. Those wishing to honor Pat’s memory may donate to the Carolina Meadows library.
