Barbara Heineck

Barbara Margaret Rogers Heineck (Barb, Mom, Mama Bear, Grandma, G'gma) passed peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, June 5th, 2018 at age 89. Barbara is survived by her children: Carol Heineck, Andrew Heineck, daughter-in-law Stephana Heineck, Steffi Carla Heineck, Katherine Heineck Pickering, and son-in-law Chris Pickering. Barbara has 8 grandchildren and 3 grandchildren-in-law: Jennifer Heineck Salucci, grandson-in-law Jesse Salucci, Aaron Vann, Tobias Heineck, granddaughter-in-law JoAnna Vetreno Heineck, Micah Heineck, granddaughter-in-law Sonja Lehner Heineck, Sarah Vann, Matthew Heineck, Casey Heineck and Katie Heineck. Barbara also has 4 great grandchildren: Rocco Salucci, Emma Heineck, Max Heineck and Matteo Salucci. She was born in New York on July 24, 1928 to Dr. Henry William Rogers and Dr. Helen Jones Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 56 years, Arthur William (Billy) Heineck, and her beloved sister, Virginia (Gini) Rogers Cushing. Her family is grateful for the care and support she received from the dedicated caregivers of Pruitt Healthcare at Carolina Point in Durham, NC. A memorial service will celebrate her life on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 4:00 pm at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Durham, NC.
