Beatrice Geneva Watson Erdesky

Beatrice Geneva Watson Erdesky, 97, died Friday, neember 11, 2011, at Lynchburg General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Durham, N.C., the fourth of sixteen children to the late Nanee and William Watson. She was the wife of the late George A. Erdesky and was preceded ineeath by her second son, William R. Erdesky and her first grandson, Kevin E. Wheeler. Beatrice is survived by her daughters: Annette Wheeler of Dallas, TX, Susan Freer of Goode, VA with whom she lived for the past eight years, Helen Jones Buddy of Durham, N.C. and Kathryn Clendening of Rocky Mount and son, Michael J. Erdesky Judy of Durham, N.C. She is survived by her sisters: Nonie Rose and Mabel Laws of Durham, NC, Catherine Bowling Bobby of Franklinton, NC and brothers: Clifton Watson Margaret, Roy Watson and Bobby Watson of Durham, NC and Jim Watson Esther of Goldsboro, NC.: seven grandchildren, April Likins of Lynchburg, Lauren McAuliffe of Southborough, MA, Justin Freer of Goode, Kyle Wheeler of Plano, TX, Mark Erdesky of Fuquay-Varina, NC.., Robert Erdesky of Sarasota, FL and Melissa Clendening of Carrboro, N.C. and four great grandchildren, Carmen Hudson and Luke McAuliffe of Southborough, MA, Kallan Wheeler and Bren Wheeler of Plano, TX. Beatrice was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Durham, N.C. where she was a charter member of The Catholic Daughters. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and a seamstress. She loved to read, watch college or NBA basketball and spend time with her beloved family. All who knew her were blessed and honeed by her presence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 1:30pm Wednesday, neember 16, 2011 from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 810 West Chapel Hill Street, Durham, NC 27701 with Fr. Dan McLellan, OFM, presiding. A Rite of Christian Burial will follow at Woodlawneemorial Park. Friends may visit from 12:50-1:30 oneednesday, neember 16, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 810 West Chapel Hill Street, Durham, NC 27701 Contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 810 West Chapel Hill St., Durham, N.C. 27701 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
