Bobby Elmore Greene

OXFORD: Bobby E Greene, age 79, of Oxford died Wednesday, neember 30, 2011 at Granville Medical Center. A native of Granville County son of the late Alexander "Lex" S and Cornie Gooch Greene. A graduate of NC State Uneersity with a Professional Engineering Degree, a veteran of the US Army and the NC National Guard with the rank of Captain, a retired environmental engineer with the Granville County Health Department for 30 years. He served as chairman of the Granville County Soil Conservationeervice for 40 years. He was an Ex-Officio member of the Granville County Citizens Advisory Committee for Environmental Affairs. A member of Dexter Baptist Church, serving as Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and trustee. He was involved in various farming operations. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Dexter Baptist Church by Rev. Wayne Clark and Rev. Neil Woodlief. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Surviving, his wife of 54 years Patsy H Greene, his son Jon Greene of Oxford; 2 sisters, Lucille G Hebert of Toledo, OH and Sylvia G Hanley of Winston Salem; 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Kim Greene Dulaney. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dexter Baptist Church Building Fund c/o Jerry Faulkner, 6078 Hicksboro Road, Oxford, NC 27565.
