Carl Francis Monturo

Carl Francis Monturo, age 78, died peacefully Monday morning, December 30, 2013, at Duke Uneersity Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. A resident of Raleigh, he was born ineew York City to the late Carl A. and Monica Albina Grau Monturo on June 2, 1935. Carl was a 1956 graduate of Iona College ineew Rochelle, NY. He retired from Southerneell in 1991 after 25 years of service. He was a member of Saint Catherine of Siena Church and was active in the Knights of Columbus. Carl is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Kathleen G. Monturo of Raleigh, NC; his four children, Matthew T. Monturo of Augusta, GA; Father Christopher W. Monturo of West Harrison, NY; Celeste A. Monturo of Sheboygan Falls, WI; and Mark F. Monturo of Raleigh, NC; his unee, Louis J. Monturo of Boyntoneeach, FL; and two grandchildren, Christopher M. Monturo and Reagan M. Monturo, both of Lilburn, GA. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 from St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest. Friends may visit Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. January 2, at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 W. Main St. in Durham. Carl will be buried on Monday, January 6, 2014 in Valhalla, NY.
