Clarence Elton Wheeler

January 1, 1923 — February 24, 2011

Clarence "Jack" Elton Wheeler of Bynum died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at UNC Hospital. Mr. Wheeler was born January 1, 1923 in Bynum, NC. He was an Army Veteran and served as a Sergeant in the 610th Tank Destroyer Battalion in World War II. Clarence was a retiree from Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. Clarence is survived by his two sons, Jeffery aneelton Wheeler; and, sister Swanee Looper. He was preceded ineeath by his wife Helen Lorise Wheeler; parents, Martin Elton Wheeler and Anee King Wheeler; and, sister Maude Lee Hill. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 1 from 6:00 8:00 pm at Hall Wynne Funeral Service Griffin Chapel, Pittsboro, NC. Funeral will be held 11 am, Wednesday, March 2, at Rock Springs Baptist Church followed by fellowship with the family and friends after the service. Pastor Tommy Faust will be conducting the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Griffin Chapel Pittsboro, NC.
