Clyde Thomas Wilson,81, of Stovall, NC died Saturday, November 24, 2018.Born June 23, 1937, in Granville County, Clyde was the son of the late James W. and Mary Leigh Wilson. At the age of 19, Clyde joined the US Army where he served both active duty and as a reservist for 5 years. Clyde later became a Mechanic for Burlington Industries where he stayed for thirteen years before becoming Owner and Operator of J - S Self Service Grocery in Stovall for thirty-five years. He was very honored to have served as a Deacon with Stovall Baptist Church for more than 12 years. Clyde was a big Tar Heels fan and especially enjoyed Basketball and Baseball. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife Marie Lloyd Wilson; two sons, William Wilson and Kenny Wilson; grandchildren, Billy Wilson, Lee Wilson (Amanda), Prissy Wilson, Zack Wilson, and Josh Wilson (fianc Katelynn Cheek); great grandchildren, Mason and Dillon. Clyde is also survived by brothers, Harvey Wilson, and Larry Wilson; sister, Myrtle Cherkas; daughter-in-law, Tammy Wilson; close family friend, Wendy Feild; as well as many loving extended family and friends. Clyde is predeceased by his grandson, Chad Wilson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018, at 1:00 pm fromthe Stovall Baptist Church, 307 Main St., Stovall, NC 27582. A time of visitation will begin at 12:00 pm at the church. Immediately following the funeral service, burial will take place at the Stovall Memorial Cemetery, Stovall, NC. Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions be made in Clyde's name tothe Stovall Baptist Church, 307 Main St., Stovall, NC 27582. Gentry-Newell - Vaughan is proudly serving the Wilson Family.
