Don Hux

DURHAM ??? Donald ???Don??? Coppridge Hux, 89, died January 28, 2019 at his home. A Durham native, Don was born on neember 15, 1929 to the late Ginter Coppridge Hux and Sudie Ellington Hux. Don proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard. He was a member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church, the Bethesda Baptist Prime Timers, and a former Deacon aneelder of Robbins Road Christian Church. He was also a member of Oak Grove Masonic Lodge #750 A.F. & A.M and the Southgate Chapter # 177 OES. He worked for Penny Furniture Company, maneed Center Furniture Company and later retired from the US postal service. He enjoyed gardening, quail hunting and raising and training hunting dogs. Don is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris Sherron Hux; his cousins, Emily, Joan, John, Jim, all of SC, Wilma Fletcher of Durham, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 1, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. Mike Poole will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawneemorial Park with Military Honors. Friends may visit from 5:00 ??? 7:00pm Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
