Edith Conyers

Edith Whitaker Conyers, age 85, died Wednesday evening at the Franklin Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitationeenter. A native of Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Vernon R. and Lena Vaughan Whitaker. A long-time member of Ebeneer Uneed Methodist Church, Edith will be fondly remembered for her great spirit and wonderful sense of humor. She is survived by her loving children, Linda Marie Hutchison of Tallahassee, FL; Pamela Conyers Tuggle of Prince George, VA; Desiree Conyers Bowling of Ayden, NC; and Clifton Vann Conyers, Jr. of Franklinton; her sister, Hallie Swanston; and three grandchildren, Casey, Tori and Makenee Conyers. Edith was preceded ineeath by her husband, Clifton Van Conyers, Sr. and one grandson, Ricky Nixon. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, December 4, 2011, from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 504 E. Mason St. in Franklinton. The Reverend Clyde Waiden will preside and burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may visit Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
