Butner Edith Fowler Averett, 79 formerly of Butner, a resident of Brantwood Nursing Home died Sunday April 12, 2009 at Granville Medical Center. She was a native of Granville County, daughter of the late Mack & Lillian Fowler. Widow of Jerome T. Averett, she was a member of Providence Baptist Church, a retired employee of John Umstead Hospital for 29 years and a homemaker. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday April 15th at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Dan Hill and Dr. Randy Pittman. Burial will follow in the Averett family Cemetery. Surviving are her daughters Romana Goss Moss John of Creedmoor, Carolyn A Messer Earl of Creedmoor. One son Mike Averett Cynthia of Creedmoor. One sister Alice Gordon of Roxboro, one brother Bryant Fowler of Creedmoor, eight Grandchildren and thirteen Great Grandchildren. Predeceased by one great granddaughter. Flowers area accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Earl & Carolyneesser, 2582 Tar River Road Creedmoor, NC.
