Edna Mae Parham Thomasson

OXFORD: Edna Mae Parham Thomasson, age 84 of Oxford, passed away at her home on Saturday, February 8, 2014 surrounded by her family. A native of Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Russell C. aneedna Wade Parham and a member of Peace's Chapel Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, grandmother, and a friend to all that knew her. Edna Mae worked alongside her husband on the family farm, was a homemaker, and was a former employee of Ace Hardware of Oxford. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Peace's Chapel Baptist Church by Reverend Bruce Brooks and Reverend Jason Thornton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Paul Becton, Nick Edwards, Charlie Piper, Brandon Thomasson, Jacob Thomasson, and Brian Wilkins. Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Nelson Thomasson; her daughters, Linda T. Piper Charles of Oxford and Chris T. Wilkins Ray of Henderson; her sons, Bart Thomasson Anita of Oxford, and Russell Thomasson Kim of Oxford; a sister, Patsy P. Blackwelder of Laurinburg and her brothers, Charles Parham Louise of Henderson, Wiley Parham Claire of Oxford; sister-in-law Margaret Parham of Henderson and 7 grandchildren; Brian Wilkins, Charlie Piper Amanda, Christy Edward Nick, Lauren Thomasson Paul Becton, Brandon Thomasson, Sarah Thomasson, and Jacob Thomasson. She was preceded ineeath by her brothers, Parke Parham, S.O. Parham and Billy Parham. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Peace's Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Franklin Frazier, 4149 Sawmill Road, Oxford, NC 27565. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 PM on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
