Ellen Dian Johnston

It is with great sadness that the family of Ellen Dian Johnston (Anderson) announces her passing at the age of 75, on July 8, 2018 at Granville Medical Center after battling illness. Ellen will be fondly remembered by her two daughters, Jessica Brigman and Heather Johnston-Troutman; her sister, Venna Spencer; her brother, Mark Anderson; her grandchildren, Samantha Troutman, Rebecca Troutman, Kellie Sost, Austin Troutman, Bryan Kennedy and Madison Troutman; and her 4 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. She was born in Bronx, NY on June 2nd, 1943 to Corrine and Thomas Anderson. Raised in Clinton, Connecticut with her 4 siblings. She moved to Boca Raton, FL in 1971 to raise her daughters Jessica and Heather. She worked as a bookkeeper for Sea Ranch Club of Boca and the Boca Raton Museum before moving to North Carolina to be close to her daughters and their families. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Haynes and Denis Anderson; her best friend, Mona Texeira; and her beloved grandson, Kevin Kennedy. Services will be held at South Granville Memorial Gardens on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home is assisting the Johnston Family.
