Eva Wade Knight

Durham - Mrs. Eva Wade Knight, 91, died Saturday morning at 2:04am December 26, 2020. She was born on June 16, 1929 to the late William Alvin Wade and Gaynell Jones Wade of Lillington, Harnett County, NC.

Eva moved to Durham in 1948 with her husband, Philip H. Knight, and daughter, Phyllis. She later went to work with American Tobacco Company as a machine operator, where she retired after 35 years. She was a member of Local Union 183, the Madame Alexander Doll Club and Collectors United. Presently, she is a member of Farrington Road Baptist Church.

Mrs. Knight was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Philip Henry Knight on January 2, 2017. She was also predeceased by her five sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Knight West and her husband, Hassie E. (Gene) West II of Oxford, NC; grandsons, Justin Phillip West of Oxford NC, and Hassie “Buddy” E. West III and his wife, Christy S. West of Oxford NC and great granddaughters, Kayla Nicole West of Wilmington NC, Taylor West Lumley and her husband Triston Lumley of Raleigh NC and great grandson Dillon Holland of Zebulon, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 W. Main Street, Durham NC. Officiating will be Mr. C. Michael Poole. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1621 Broad St, Fuquay-Varina, NC.

The family will receive visitors from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Hall-Wynne.
