Gertrude Johnsoneeymour

Mrs. Gertrude Johnsoneeymour, 89, of Pittsboro passed away on Friday April 20, 2012, at The Laurels of Chatham. A native of Chatham County, Gertrude was born to the late Allie A. Johnson & Ada Horton Johnson. An avid Tarheel fan, her love of sports was only superseded by her devotion to music. Along with being a member of the Jubilee Choir, Gertrude was a regular member of the church choir for over 50 years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Seymour is preceded ineeath by her husband, Miltoneeymour; and her brother Percy Johnson. Survivors include her son, Andy Seymour, and his wife Karen, of Sanford, NC; her daughter, Cindy Haynes, and her husband, Ken, of Pittsboro; her sister, Betty Lou Ferrell, of Morrisville, NC; and her grandchildren, Josh & Morganeeymour. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00PM, Monday, April 23, 2012 at Pittsboro Baptist Church. A funeral service for Mrs. Seymour will be at 3:00PM, Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the church, with Dr. Tripp Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
