Gilbert "Gib" Ruth

Gilbert ???Gib??? Ruth, 77, passed away in the early afternoon of Thursday, August 14 2014, at his home. Mr. Ruth was born to the late Thomas Cook Ruth and Lorena Moore Ruth on March 6,1937 in Chatham County, NC. He married the former Linda McLaurin June 11, 1967. Gib worked for and retired from UNC Uneersity as an HVAC Technician. In addition to his parents, Gib was preceded ineeath by three brothers, John Moore Ruth, ???T.C.??? Thomas Cook Ruth and Donald Ruth;???? his sister, Joy Ruth Burke;???? and his niece, Kay Peedin. Survivors include his wife, Linda of Pittsboro, NC; his niece, Sue Cagle and her husband Butch of Toms River, NJ; three great-nieces, Jenneer Bodnarchuk, Stephanie Cagle and Taylor Ruth Peedin; and a great-great-nephew Nathan Bodnarchuk. A funeral service for Mr. Ruth will be held 3:00PM, Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Mays Chapel Baptist Church in Pittsboro, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Mays Chapel Baptist Church or UNC Hospice of Pittsboro.
