Helen S. Roll

Helen S. Roll, age 96, died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Hillcrest Convalescent Center. She was born in Towson, MD to the late Edmund and Christine Sauerbrey on October 28, 1917. A member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Durham, Helen worked in the family florist business for many years before it closed in the early 1970s. She enjoyed her many trips with the senior groups and spending time at the Seymour Senior Center in Chapel Hill. Helen is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Helen R. Frederick of Durham, NC; her grandchildren, Robert Frederick and wife, Jamie, of Tampa, FL; Sandy F. Raneead of Virginia Beach, VA; and her great-granddaughter, Claire Frederick. She was preceded ineeath by her husband, William Roll; her sister, Laura Schools; and her brother, Karl Sauerbrey. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service in Durham with the Rev. Reneeacute; Harris of First Baptist Church of Pittsboro presiding. Private burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. The family would like to thank the wonderful aneefficient staff on Pinehurst in Hillcrest; Dr. Prasad, Brittany, Debra, DeeDee, Tameka, Miranda, Lydia, Jessica, Tamera, Crystal, Tanya aneespecially Debra Cox.
