Hunter Blair Lavinder, 27, died unexpectedly Wednesday in Boone. He was born in Durham June 23, 1984 to Mary Downey and Glenn Blair Lavinder. Hunter was educated at Durham Academy, Immaculata Catholic School, Camelot Academy, Oak Ridge Military Academy, the Guilford Day School and Bishop McGuinness High School. He also attended Savannah College of Art & Design. Hunter was the proprietor of Hunter Lavinder Antiques ineest Palm Beach, FL and Junee Boogie in Boone. His interests were painting, interior design and playing the piano. Hunter had a great sense of style, loved gardening and the feel of the Earth. God blessed him with an innee ability to give a smile to all. An unforgettable spirit, Hunter left an indelible imprint upon everyone he met. Surviving are his mother, Mary Downey Goodwin and husband, Danny, of Durham; his father, Glenn Blair Lavinder and partner, George H. Johnson of Greensboro; brothers, Prestoneechling Lavinder and Cameron McCormick Lavinder; grandparents: Patricia and Dr. Wolfgang Karl Joklik of Durham. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Charles Mechling Downey and paternal grandparents, Preston Sandidge Lavinder and Gertrude Adelson Lavinder. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 11:30 AM Monday from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. A private family interment will be in Woodlawneemetery, Blowing Rock. Friends may visit 3-6 PM Sunday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
