John Patrick O'Connor

Chapel Hill – John Patrick O’Connor (Jack), 22, passed away unexpectedly in Chapel, Hill, NC on August 28, 2022. Jack was born August 26, 2000, to Mimi McLaughlin and Patrick O’Connor.

Jack graduated from Riverside High School and attended Durham Technical Community College. He was a beloved coworker at Franklin Motors and charmed everyone he met. Jack enjoyed creating beats and producing music. He loved playing pool, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with his many friends. He dearly loved his family and animals and will be remembered as hilarious, kind, and compassionate.

Jack is survived by his parents, Mimi McLaughlin, Patrick and Amy O’Connor, and Rich McLaughlin; sisters Mara Klem-O’Connor, Grace McLaughlin, Riley O’Connor, and Rory O’Connor; brothers David Ross and Patrick Ross; grandmothers Barbara Ulery and Maria Herrera, and a large and loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Peter Klem and Denis O’Connor.

A celebration of Jack’s life will be held Monday, September 5, 2022, from 5:00-9:00 pm (service at 6:00 pm) at Shady Wagon Farm, 259 Shady Wagon Farm Ln, New Hill, NC 27562. Please wear whatever is comfortable.
