Julia Brooks Stovall

OXFORD: Julia Brooks Stovall, age 78, a resident of Oxford died Tuesday, May 13, 2014. She was the daughter of the late R.D. Brooks and Mamie Bowles. She was preceded ineeath by her husband Dan Stovall. Mrs. Julia was a long time member of Hester Baptist Church. She was owner of Stovall's Gifts and Collectibles until her retirement. Painting and flowers were just a few things she loved but her love for her family aneextended family of cousins, nieces and nephews was her strongest suit. Her special dog "Buddy" was a true love of hers too. However, what is more certain is that she was the one who lovingly led her family amazingly and successfully through all the years of her life. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Hester Baptist Church by Rev. Alex Gallimore. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Surviving are her daughters; Nan Stovall Howells Robert, and Julia Stovall Overton, both of Oxford; a brother, Richard D. Brooks; her grandchildren, Christie Lawrence Brian, Tracie Haley, Jenneer Parrott Scott, Dr. Daniel Stovall, Leigh Anne Stovall, Michael Overton, and Casey Overton; and her great grandchildren, Lineey Haley, Madison Haley, Aneew Lawrence, Joshua Lawrence, and Hayes Parrott. Mrs. Stovall was preceded ineeath by her son, Michael "Bear" Stovall. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall prior to the funeral from 10am until 11am.
