Lawrence Dwayne Overbey

Lawrence Dwayne Overbey, Sr., age 61, died peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2022. Dwayne was born in Richmond, Virginia on January 7, 1961, to his late parents, Lawrence Ray Overbey and Priscilla Tuck Overbey. He worked with Newton Instruments for 25 years.

Dwayne is survived by his wife of 24 years, Carla Slaughter Overbey and his children, Lawrence Dwayne Overbey, Jr. (Christy); Tonya Tunstall; Kyndrea Gossett Sanford (Joseph) and Travis Eugene Gossett (Crystal) and his grandchildren, PJ, Peter, Michael, Nolen, and Aubree. Dwayne also leaves behind a sister, Donna Walker. He will be missed by many friends and extended family too numerous to name.

A funeral service officiated by Reverend Bruce Beck will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 3:00 pm at West Oxford Baptist Church with burial to follow the service at Meadowview Memorial Park.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
