Lizzie Hayes Champion

Lizzie Hayes Champion, age 90, died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Louisburg Nursing Center. She was born in Franklin County oneebruary 7, 1918 to the late Jim and Zena Fuller Hayes. A retired textile worker, Mrs. Champion was a long-time member of the Franklinton Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Ronald Champion and wife, Rosemary, of Franklinton, NC; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Champion was preceded ineeath by her husband, Tommie Champion and her son, Jimmie Champion. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, February 16, 2008, from the Chapel of Franklin Funeral Service with the Rev. David Averette presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may visit on Saturday prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM in the funeral home or other times at her son's residence, 731 Wes Sandling Rd.
