Lou Ellen Mcgee Oakley

Lou Ellen McGee Oakley, 84, of Oxford passed peacefully while surrounded by family on Friday, January 05, 2018. She was born in Granville County on April 29, 1933 to the late Walter C. McGee aneerma Belle Bowling McGee. Mrs. Oakley retired after 46 years of service with Burlington Industries of Oxford. She enjoyed crocheting and reading and she loved family and church. She is survived by her children, Luanne Cox (Harold); Calvin Oakley (Sandra); Sandra Tripp (Lanny); and Thomas Wade Oakley; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. Lou Ellen is also survived by sisters, Betty Marlene Ayers, and Sarah Shropshire; and brother, Wade Lee McGee; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Enon Baptist Church, 2298 Enon Rd., Oxford. The family will receive guests at 2:00 pm, prior to the service. Burial will be ineeadowview Memorial Park. A private Cremationeeremony was previously held.
