Maria Leone Dwane

CARY ??? Maria Leone Dwane passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the age of 80 years at her home. She was born in San Biase, Italy, May 27, 1937 to the late Roberto Leone and Carmella Tanno Leone. She spent her childhood on a farm in the Molise region of Italy and immigrated to England at age 16. Maria married in 1959 and immigrated with her husband to America a year later. After living in Connecticut and Brooklyn, they moved to central Pennsylvania where they lived for over 40 years. She found the most joy in cooking for others, socializing, and planting new life ineer garden. Maria made sure every guest at the house had a full belly and a meal to go. Maria is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Gerard Dwane; her son, Robert Dwane and wife, Maribeth of Southwick, MA; her daughters, Anne Bogovich and husband, Mark of Cary, NC; Helen Hauer and husband, Aaron of Reston, VA; her brother, Camille Leone of San Biase, Italy; her sister, Antonietta Leone, of Sedico, Italy; and her grandchildren, Bridie Rose Dwane, Olivia Anne Hauer, and Jack James Hauer. Maria was preceded ineeath by her brother, Michele Leone. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 11:00AM Saturday, January 13, 2018 from St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Chapel Hill with Father James Labosky presiding. Burial will follow at a later date in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations ineer memory to the Food Bank of Central aneeastern North Carolina or a charity of your choice.
