Oxford Mozelle Stroud Hill Elliott, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 4, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Robert Kitchen and Bettie Clayton Hill.?? She was born in Durham County and resided in Granville County as a homemaker for many prosperous years with her late husband, Raymond Harden Elliott. Mozelle raised six children while farming and working at Seven Eleven and Buy Quick on Roxboro Road.?? She joined Mountain Creek Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, Mission Friends teacher, WMU leader, VBS teacher, and Hospitality committee member for many years. Mozelle enjoyed being at home with her family, collecting dolls, gardening, quilting, and raising chickens, goats, cows, and, most of all, her cats. Mozelle loved voluneering at CCM, serving Meals on Wheels, hosting WMU meetings ineer home, and being an active member with the Penny Hill EVA Club. Most of all, she enjoyed cooking lunch for all of her family every Sunday. Mozelle is survived by her children Patricia Tingen (Marshall), Sandra Currin (Mike), Wayneelliott (Teresa), Betty Jean Cash (Kevin), Robert Elliott (Elva), and Van Elliott (Conee); her brother, Milton Hill (Robin); her sister, Shirley Whitfield (Dan); and her sisters-in-law, Joan Hill and Ruby Hill.?? She has 14 loving grandchildren and 18 adoring great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by many family and friends. Mozelle was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Bettie Hill; her husband of 42 years, Raymond H. Elliott; and her brothers Lewis Hill and Maurice Hill. A visitation will be held for family and friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. oneednesday, June 6, 2018, at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home. Services will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Mountain Creek Baptist Cemetery. Flowers are acceptable, or memorials may be made to Mountain Creek Baptist Church, care of Gilbert Wilson, P.O. Box 668, Oxford, NC 27565. Mozelle has always been a shinineexample of faith, not only to her own family but also to all who knew her.?? Her faith in God, her church, and her family were all an integral a part of her life. The Elliott family is being proudly served by Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home, Oxford, NC.
