DURHAM-Olga Hall Dean, age 98, died peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Duke Regional Hospital. Olga was born in Chesterfield Co., VA oneebruary 15, 1916 to the late Thomas Stephen and Olivia Mae (McLaughlin) Hall. Olga spent a lengthy working career at Liggett & Myers. For many years she was an active member of Duke Memorial Uneed Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir and was involved in missionary outreach. Olga was a 57 year member of the Southgate Chapter, Order of the Easter Star, #177 and also very active with the Kings Daugthers. A woman of artistic talent, she played guitar and piano, was an accomplished vocalist and scenic painter. Olga is survived by her brother, Preston Hall of Durham, and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded ineeath by her husband, Ernest Dean; her brothers, Victor and Thurlow Hall; and a sister Edna Christmas. Memorial contributions may be made to Durham Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 11858, Durham, NC 27703 or a charity of one???s choice. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Thursday, October 2, 2014 in the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, with The Rev.
