Pamela Mary Mcmillen

CHAPEL HILL- Pamela Mary McMillen, 78 died July 26, 2012, at UNC Hospital. Pamela was born January 5, 1934, in Ipswich England, daughter of the late Hugh and Olive Gleave. Pamela is survived by her husband Frank D. McMillen, son Mark, and wife Lisa of Smithfield, brother Martin Gleave of Vancouver, BC and grandchildren, Mark Jr, Alison and James. Pamela was educated at Ipswich high school, where she excelled in sports, mainly field hockey and tennis. She was selected to play at Jr. Wimbledon. She saw the world while working for British Airways. She met and married Frank while he was on his first assignment after pilot training. Frank always believed Pamela was the perfect Air Force wife. She will be remembered by all for her great kineess and zest for life. Pamela was a long time member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church where she worked as secretary for 16 years. A memorial service will be offered at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 4th, 2012 at St Matthew's, Hillsborough NC with Rev. Dr. N. Brooks Graebner officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends may like to give a donation in Pamela's nee to St Matthew's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 628, Hillsborough, NC 27278.
