Mrs. Pauline Williams Mills Williams, 96, of Lockville St., Pittsboro, died February 19, 2011 at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. Mrs. Williams was born in Chatham County on May 28, 1914, the daughter of Earnest and Lela Beane Williams. She was a former resident of Durham, where she was a member of Holloway Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Williams was a retired telephone operator, having worked at UNC @ Chapel Hill. Survivors include her daughter, Nell Morris of Pittsboro; granddaughters, Tami Gales and Toni Sanders; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Kendall Gales, Mackenee Sanders; special niece, Janet Brown of Sanford; nephews, Leon Williams of Pittsboro, Mike Johnson of Graham; 6 great-nephews; 1 great-niece; and sister-in-law, Mozelle Williams of Pittsboro. Mrs. Williams was predeceased by her parents; husbands, Robert Mills and Harvey Williams; and brothers, Clarence "Dutchman" Williams and Alton Williams. The funeral service for Mrs. Pauline Williams will be held at 2 o'clock pm Tuesday at Hall Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro, with Pastors Jerry Sanders and Sammy Kay presiding. Interment will follow in the Hanks Chapel Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 7:00 8:30 pm Monday at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome, or, memorials may be sent to Solid Rock Baptist Church, 3903 US 64 West, Pittsboro, NC 27312. Arrangements are under the care of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service and Cremation of Pittsboro.
