Roby Turner, Jr.

Rev. Roby Turner, Jr., 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 30, 2020.

Born in Wilson, he was the son of the late Roby Turner, Sr. and Minnie Murphy Turner Waddell. A life-long Christian, Roby was called to his ministry at an early age. He worshiped and served the Lord. He was the pastor of the Tabernacle of Life church in Durham.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Joyce Turner; son, Roby Keith Turner of Durham; daughters, Debra Edwards of Durham, Emily Quarles of Hillsborough, Esther Turner, Elizabeth Turner, both of Durham and Dorothy Gurganus of Virginia; sister, Bonnie Lockridge of Smithfield; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jimmy Turner and Harvey Edwards and grandsons, Ethan Price and Isaiah Batten.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Tabernacle of Life Church, 2400 Sovereign Street, Durham NC.

Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from Tabernacle of Life Church with Rev. Joe Green and Elder Michael Edwards officiating.
