Thomas Wayne Bowman

Thomas Wayne Bowman, age 67 of Oxford, NC, died on January 8, 2019. Born in Rockingham County in June of 1951 to the late Richard Luther Bowman, Jr and Nancy Jean Gardner; he later moved to Granville County and shared a wonderful life with his wife of 46 years, Sue. Thomas was a man who loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all. Thomas served 6 years in the Army National Guard. He retired after 29 years from Comfort Engineers in Durham. Thomas is survived by his wife, Sue Gooch Bowman; his oldest son, Jason Thomas Bowman (Paula); his daughter, Lori Ann Bowman (Brad); and youngest son, Justin Richard Bowman. He is also survived by his 3 granddaughters, Kristen Bowman, Kaitlyn Elliott (Zachary) and Brooklyn Smith; and 3 grandsons, Nathan Wilkins, Jason Bowman, Jr and Corey Herndon. Thomas has 7 surviving brothers and sisters; Donnie Bowman (Jane), Debra Braddy, Nancy Pittman (Loyd), Teri Murphy (Thom), Jeanne Ellington (Keith), Bobbi Gentry House and Michelle Williams (Kelly). He was greatly loved and will be missed by family and friends. Visitation will be at 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm on January 11, 2019 with a Memorial service by Pastor Edward Bowman to immediately follow in the Chapel of Gentry-Newell - Vaughan Funeral Home.
