Toby Yale Kahr

Durham- Toby Yale Kahr was born June 20, 1932, and departed from us on October 27, 2017. Toby is survived by his son, Richard Kahr of New Jersey; daughter, Jenneer McGinnis of Durham; his grandchildren, Matthew, Kristen, J.T., and Jake Kahr; sister-in-law Clarice Kahr; and treasured nieces and nephews Barbara Wilson and her husband Rich, Eileen Crist and her husband Keith,Chuck Kahr and his wife Linda, Bill Kearns and his wife Yomaira, and Laurie Kearns Nowicki and her husband Michael, and their children. He was preceded ineeath by his beloved wife, Rita; his cherished daughter, Stephanie; his father Charles Kahr; mother, Wilma (Babe) Kahr; and his brother, Charles Kahr. Prior to attending college Toby served as a Major in the Uneed States Air Force. Toby then earned his bachelor???s degree from Columbia Uneersity, and his Masters and PhD from the Uneersity of Illinois. He worked in human resources throughout his career for Ford Motor Company, the Uneersity of Illinois, and theneetiring from Duke Uneersity as Associate Vice President for Humaneesources. More than any professional accomplishment, however, Toby was a man of God and a powerful witness to couneess souls of his great faith, a devoted husband, loving father, and a veteran and patriot to his country. A man obedient to the instructions of Mic 6:8: ???He has told you, O man,what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kineess, and to walk humbly with your God???? To Toby it could be said, ???Well done, good and faithful servant.??? Mt 25:23 A gathering for family and friends to celebrate Toby???s life will be held in the Ballroom of the Clubhouse for the Cedars of Meadowmont at 100 Cedar Club Circle, Chapel Hill, NC 27517, starting at 11 A.M., on Saturday, neember 4, 2017.
