OXFORD: Virginia M. Crews, a resident of Oxford died Monday September 19, 2011 in the William Dunlap Hospice of Wake Co. in Raleigh. She was a native of Horry Co. S.C. and was the daughter of the late Sam and Lutie Cartrette McQueen. She was a housewife and a member of the Oxford Uneed Methodist Church, the Tuesday Study Club and the Cosmopolitan Club. A memorial service will be conducted oneednesday, September 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Oxford Uneed Methodist Church by the Rev. David Haley and the Rev. John Yount. Surviving is her husband Roy Walter Crews of the home; a daughter, Pat Crews of Oxford; three sons, Sam Crews Karen and Jimmy Crews Susan both of Oxford and Roddy Crews of Morganton, NC; two sisters, Carolyn Hallman of Rock Hill SC and Pearl Ingram of Ridgeland, SC; six grandchildren, Ginna Van Zandt Tyler, Jim Crews, Nathan Crews, Katie Crews, William Crews and Sarah Crews. The family will receive friends immediately following the services in the fellowship hall of the church. At other times they will be at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Uneed Methodist Agency, c/o Marilyn Garner, 9800 Kincey Ave. Suite 190, Huntersville, NC 28078, or to a charity of ones choice.
