William "Bill" Waldmann

Durham, NC / Detroit MI ??? William (Bill) Louis Waldmann, age 80, died in Durham, North Carolina on neember 28, 2018. He was born oneecember 8, 1937 to the late Clement and Margaret Waldmann. Bill was born and raised ineetroit, Michigan and spent nearly every summer of his life enjoying the shores of Lake Huron in Oscoda, Michigan.?? Whenee finished high school, he joined the U. S. Army where he was a medical specialist and learned the ophthalmic trade. He met and married Barbara Robin (Waldmann) and they had three daughters: Elaine, Lisa and Kristina.?? Bill worked for 30 + years as an ophthalmic technologist. He was ordained a Roman Catholic Deacon in 1976 and served the catholic community until he passed.?? Bill earned a degree in Theology from Madonna Uneersity of Michigan. He served as an Oakland County Sheriff Chaplin, was Deacon at 3 different parishes including Our Lady of Grace, Dearborneeights, MI, Holy Family, Novi MI, and Saint Thomas More, Chapel Hill NC. Bill is survived by his sisters Anne and Nadine and his brother Clement, his daughters Elaine (Steve) Grejda, Lisa Waldmann (Todd Palmer), Kristina Waldmann (John Roach) and 6 grandchildren, Aidan and Johanna Grejda, Karsten and Marlaina Palmer, Nikki and Collin Roach. Bill was preceded ineeath by his wife Barbara, his sister Mary Hellen, and parents Clement and Margaret. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 4th, 2018 at 9:30 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Chapel Hill, NC. There will be a visitation on Monday, December 3rd, 2018, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Durham, NC. For family and friends in Michigan, there will be a memorial mass celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church in Novi, Michigan Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 am.
