Beverly C. Parham, 71, of Oxford, NC, died at home peacefully, surrounded by family, on July 4th, 2025. She gracefully went to be with the Lord after a two-year battle with colon cancer. She was the daughter of the late James W. “Bill” Currin and Lois Mangum Currin of Granville County, NC.
Beverly was a devoted wife to Marshall T. Parham, Jr., a wonderful mother, grandmother, and a former schoolteacher assistant at Stovall Shaw Elementary School for 27 years. She was a longstanding member of Dexter Baptist Church, where she was a choir member, and taught Sunday School and Bible School. She spent her latter years taking her mother to her former church, Tabbs Creek Baptist Church.
Beverly lived a fulfilling and selfless life, devoted to embodying and sharing Christ-like love. She led by example, showing kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith—always putting others before herself and teaching through both words and action. She enjoyed sewing, antiquing, and gardening, and she was especially devoted to her family’s farm, where she found peace and purpose in tending to the land.
Beverly is survived by her husband of 51 years, Marshall T. Parham, Jr.; her children, Lori P. Nutt (Chris) and Nori P. Brooks (Brian); and her grandchildren, Caleb Nutt and Ali Wilson. She is also survived by her brother, J.W. Currin (Mechelle), as well as numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will all miss her dearly.
A memorial service officiated by Rev. Craig Currin and Rev. Wayne Clark will be held at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan on Monday, July 7th at 3:00 pm, with a visitation prior to the service from 1:00pm to 2:45pm. Family will also receive guests at the home of Brian and Nori Brooks. Flowers are accepted and appreciated, or you may make a memorial contribution to Samaritan’s Purse.
The Parham Family is under the care of Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home of Oxford.
