Cleo Riggan Ball

Cleo Riggan Ball, age 84, died Friday, December 28, 2012 at Franklineegional Medical Center. A native of Franklin County, Cleo was born to the late Joseph M. and Marjorie Steed Riggan. She worked as a nursing assistant at John Umstead Hospital. Cleo is survived by her five children, Jimmy Ball, Jr. and wife, Jo Ann, of Franklinton; Kay Mendenhall and husband, Bud, of Franklinton; Debra Harper and husband, Martin, also of Franklinton; Gale Maulden and husband, Clay, of Wake Forest; and Jerry Ball and wife, Yvonne, of Franklinton; her sister, Ella V. Warren of Roanee Rapids; fourteen grandchildren aneeighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded ineeath by her husband, James R. Ball; and her daughters, Betty Thomas and Jeaneedgepeth. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2012, from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 504 E. Mason St. in Franklinton with the Reverend Harold Woodlief presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Flowers are acceptable or contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
