Donovan J. "Donee" Murray

Murray, 79, died Tuesday at Hock Pavilion of Duke Hospice following an extended illness. A Durham native, he was borneeptember 8, 1936 to Joseph and Lola (Cone) Murray. He attended Oak Grove School all 12 grades and completed 2 years at NC State Uneersity. Donee spent his career with Liggett-Myers Tobacco Co. ineeveral capacities, retiring as a distribution maneer. Following retirement he assisted his wife in the family business of Friendly Floral Gallery. Donee was a member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church. He loved to play golf and travel. He will be remembered as an easy going fellow with a keen, dry sense of humor. Surviving are his wife, Pat Murray; his son, Donovan Murray and wife, Cynee Richardson, of Grassy Creek, NC, his daughter, Kimberly Murray of Hillsborough; and grandchildren, Ian and Devan Murray. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Monday from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, with the Rev. Dr. Gerald Goodwin officiating. Friends may visit 6-8 PM Sunday and 3-4:00 PM Monday in the funeral home. Flowers are welcome.
