Edith "Edie" Hook Arledge

Edith Hook Arledge (Edie) of Croasdaile Village Retirement Community in Durham, NC passed away peacefully on April 25, 2018 after a long period of declining health. Edith was a member of Grey Stone Church in Durham and a former longtime active member of Biltmore Church in Asheville, NC where she resided with Jack for over 44 years. She is survived by her husband Jack C. Arledge of 49 years; sons, Stephen J. Scott (Janet) of Durham and Douglas J. Scott (JC) of Graham; granddaughter, Lauren Scott; brother, Johnny Hook of Lexington, SC; sisters-in-law, Bettie Hook and Colene Hook; and several loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded ineeath by her first husband, Aubrey Scott; her parents Reedy and Mertice Hook; brothers, Jarvis Hook of Lexington, SC and R. O. Hook of Ravenel, SC. A memorial service will be held at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorials canee made to Duke Hospice: 4321 Medical Park Drive, Suite 101, Durham, NC 27704.
