Ellen Isley Johnson

DURHAM: Ellen Isley Johnson, 97, of Durham passed onto the Lord Thursday, April 11, 2013. She was born October 16, 1915 to the late Walter and Mary Eva Wood Johnson in Granville County. She resided most of her life in Durham. Ms. Johnson was a devoted longtime member of Grace Baptist Church in Durham, where she was a member of Grace Bethany Sunday School Class. Beside her parents, she was preceded ineeath by a sister Susan W. Johnson. She is survived by her sister, Emily E. Johnson Willis of Durham. Graveside services will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham, Dr. Wayne Riley will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ellen's memory may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 1004 North Mangum Street, Durham, NC 27701. Arrangements are under the care of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
