James Vandessel

JAMES VANDESSEL, 81, of Durham passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013. James was born August 11, 1931 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey to the late August aneelsie VanDessel . He retired, after 35 years, as a field maneer in the engineer dept. of IBM. James was very active in politics for over 30 years in Essex County, NJ. Mr. VanDessel was a Air National Guard veteran. He is survived by; his wife of 60 years, Helen E. VanDessel; a son James VanDessel Jr. and wife, Barbara of Atlantic Beach; a daughter Donna Van Arnold and husband, John of Chapel Hill; a brother August VanDessel Jr. of Arlington, VA; and two grandchildren, George and Rachel Van Arnold. Services are private. Arrangements entrusted to Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Durham.
