Jane Harris Ray

Jane Harris Ray, age 65, died Friday afternoon, June 2, at Durham Regional Hospital following a long illness. A native of Durham, Jane was born on neember 15, 1940 to the late John Briar and Mary Crabtree Harris. She was a graduate of Southern High School and later attended East Carolina Uneersity. At the time of her death Jane was employed with Mark Properties in Durham. Fondly remembered as a warm and gracious person, Jane was a remarkable lady who enjoyed meeting and socializing with people from all walks of life. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, John Phillip Ray, and a caring and loving mother to her two children. Jane is survived by her son, Dale Ray and his daughter, Madison, of Durham; her daughter, Catherine Ray Fox and husband, Todd, and their children, T.S. and Caitlin of Maine; and her brother, Douglas Harris of Atlantic Beach, NC. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 7, from New Bethel Uneed Methodist Church Cemetery located at Highway 57 and New Bethel Church Rd. Pastor Douglas Wagner will preside. A celebration of Jane
