Janet Royster Williamson, born on October 22, 1956, in Oxford, North Carolina, passed away peacefully just a day shy of her 69th birthday on October 21, 2025. Her departure marks the end of a chapter filled with love, kindness, and strength, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew and cherished her.
Janet was a devoted homemaker who gracefully balanced her career as a price coordinator for Lowe's Foods and a cashier, showcasing her commitment to her family and community. She approached every task with an unassuming spirit and a genuine heart, traits that won her the admiration of friends, colleagues, and her beloved family alike. Janet had a kindest smile that could brighten the darkest days and a warmth that enveloped everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
A proud and treasured member of her church, Janet served as a dedicated treasurer, demonstrating her unwavering faith and commitment to helping others. Her proudest accomplishments include being a wonderful grandmother and a great mother, roles that she embraced with unparalleled love and devotion. Janet adored her grandchildren—Nicole Williamson, Madilyn Frederick, Nash Frederick, Emmett Miller, and Finn Miller—who were a constant source of joy and pride in her life.
Janet’s journey was not without its challenges. She faced a long battle with her health, yet her resilience was truly remarkable. She was tough, a true fighter, and faced every obstacle with grace and bravery. Janet’s spirit serves as a testament to her character and the profound impact she had on those around her.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Earl Williamson, and her children, David Williamson, Jennifer Williamson Frederick (Chad), and Cheryl Williamson Miller (Brandon), who will forever carry the memories of her laughter, love, and unwavering support. Janet is also survived by her dear sisters, Cindy Royster, Elaine Overbey, Sybil Young (Robin), and Beverly Little ( Al), whose lives she touched profoundly.
Janet has rejoined her beloved parents, Willie Franklin Royster and Willie Lee Vaughan Royster, who preceded her in death. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of kindness, love, and strength will endure in the hearts of her family and friends.
