Obituary

Kevin L. Roach, 63, of Stovall, North Carolina, passed away on November 1, 2026, in Durham, North Carolina. He was born on March 22, 1963, in Granville County, North Carolina.

Kevin will be remembered as a man who was loving, and strong enough to endure everything that came before him. Those who knew him understood both his tough exterior and soft heart, and they will remember the determination he carried throughout his life. He enjoyed cheering on the Duke Blue Devils, hunting, playing golf, and playing softball, and these interests brought him many meaningful moments over the years. He believed in hard work; for the majority of his life, he worked as a warehouse manager.

Above all, Kevin’s life was rooted in family. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Matthews Roach; his son, Matthew Roach, and daughter-in-law, Caroline Roach; his daughter, Leslie Roach Morris, and son-in-law, Wesley Morris; his grandsons, Decker and Wells Roach, and Jax Morris; his mother-in-law, Ruth Matthews; his sister-in-law, Lisa Roach; and his beloved furry friend, Luna. He was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Roach; his mother, Sarah McGee Shropshire.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Gentry-Newell & Vaughn Funeral Home, 503 College St, Oxford, NC 27565. A memorial service will follow there from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Friends and family are welcome at the family home at other times, and after the service, they are invited to gather there for fellowship and snacks.

The family would like to convey special thanks to his entire medical team, especially Dr. Andrew Barbas and his liver transplant team, and to Eszter Fuzy, his PA and friend. The dedication of Duke's entire medical team and staff is amazing.

Kevin’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the many moments they shared with him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Gentry-Newell & Vaughan of 503 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565, cares for the Roach family with honor.
