Mary Dark Rodgers

Mrs. Mary Rodgers, 82, passed away at home, Friday, August 10, 2012. A native of Chatham County, Mary was born a daughter to the late Samuel Dark and Nottie Bowden. Mrs. Rodgers was a homemaker and celebrates 62 years of love for and devotion to her husband, Arthur. In addition to parents, Mrs. Rodgers was preceded ineeath by her son, Arthur Rodgers Jr.; and two brothers, Willis and Wade Dark. Survivors include her husband, Arthur, of the home; her sons, Brian Rodgers and wife Gloria, & William Rodgers, both of Pittsboro; her daughter, Hope Rodgers-Medina, and husband Daniel, of Greensboro, NC; her brother, Harvey Dark, of Staley, NC; her sisters, Inez Glover, of Liberty, NC, Lucille Scotton-Currie, of Siler City, NC, Ruth Patterson, of Liberty, & Genee Eubanks, of Washington, DC; her grandsons, Zachary Rodgers & William Rodgers, Jr.; her granddaughters, Davida Rodgers, Sidney Alexander, Courtney Rodgers & Tressalyn Cordaro; and her great-granddaughter, Jordyn Rodgers. A funeral service will be held 1:00PM, Monday, August 13, 2012 at Mitchell Chapel AME Zion, with the Rev. Anthony Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
