Mary Ellen Cooke Moore

Mrs. Mary Ellen Cooke Moore, 81, of Goins Rd., Moncure, died December 24, 2010 at her home. Born in Johnston County on January 10, 1929, Mrs. Moore was a daughter of Ernest T. Cooke and Iona Hawkins Moody Cooke. She was a retired technician from ITT and a member of Haywood Independent Bible Church. Survivors include her husband, John Thomas Moore, of the home; sons, Wayne Moore aneernest Moore, both of Moncure; daughters, Jean Sullivan of Skyesville, MD and Mary Davis of Ceneeville, VA; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded ineeath by a son, Scott Moore; and a daughter, Cookie Williams. The funeral service for Mrs. Moore will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Haywood Independent Bible Church with Pastor Terry Pleasant presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
