Mary Jane Matteson Smith, 80, of Cambridge Hills, Pittsboro, died January 28, 2009. She was born in Canton, NC on June 26, 1928 to Roy and Mamie Matteson. Mary Jane is survived by two sons, Norman L. Smith and wife, Carol, of Marion, NC, and Thomas D. Smith of Arden, NC; two daughters, Mary Etta Smith of Clifton, SC, and Lynelle Dodge and husband, Dennis, of Pittsboro; twelve grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Howard Madison, of Canton, NC.
