Mary Julia Durham Matlock

Mary Julia Durham Matlock died oneeptember 4, 2018 ineer home surrounded by her family at the age of 95. She was born August 1, 1923 to Edward Watson Durham and Jenee Florence Herndon Durham. Julia was married to the late Cuba Owen Matlock on neember 14, 1932 and they were married for over 50 years until his death on August 8, 1985. Julia is survived by her son, Larry Owen Matlock; daughters, Shirley Ann Matlock-Dow-Smith, Janet Faye Matlock-Dezern-Cobbler, Pamela Gen Matlock-Heaster-Haley, Conee Elaine Matlock-Smith, and Peggy Lee Heatherly-Holder; siblings, Dorothy Geraldine Durham-Harris and Clarence Lloyd Durham. Julia also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is predeceased by daughter, Glenda Dale Matlock-Mann-Joyce-Riley and siblings, Edward Harold Durham, William Teasdale Durham and Thomas Eugene Durham. Family will receive friends for visitation at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service in Durham, NC on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 6-8pm. A funeral service for Julia will be at Hall-Wynne Funeral Chapel on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 10 am. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Durham.
