Mary Graves Chappell Tilley, 81, died at home on Sunday, April 3, 2005 after a brave battle with cancer. Mary was born July 20, 1923 and was a life-long resident of Durham. She descended from one of the original families who settled Durham over 200 years ago. She was the wife of the late William E. Tilley, Jr. and the daughter of the late Mary Lucinda Graves Chappell Watson and Wayland Lee Chappell and step-daughter of the late Dorsey Eugene Watson. Mary
