Nettie Massengill Pitts

Nettie Massengill Pitts, 84, died Sunday, October 23, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Madison Pitts. She is survived by her two daughters: Diane Averett (Edward) of Oxford and Nancy Williford (Gary) of Oxford and four grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Wilbur Massengill of Smithfield. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 25th at 11 a.m. at Banks United Methodist Church cemetery, 2632 NC-96, Franklinton, NC 27525. Family members will greet friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association, 3739 National Drive, Suite 110, Raleigh, NC 27612.
