Polly was born May 8, 1908 outside Granee Falls, NC, the daughter of the late Hattie Butler and Nathan Young Monteith. She graduated from the Watts School of Nursing in 1930 and was married to Dr. Jay Morris Arena in 1931. The couple celebrated their 64th wedding anneersary in 1995, before Dr Arena
