Virginia Harding Davies Doby

Virginia Harding Daves Doby of Durham died Friday, March 31, at Treyburneealthcare Center. She was 86 years old. Mrs. Doby was born January 25, 1920 to the late Thomas E. and Myrtle Nance Daves. She was a long-time member of Robbins Road Christian Church. Mrs. Doby is survived by her three children: Norman Wayne Doby and wife, Elizabeth, of Charlotte, NC; Thomas Edward Doby of Bahama, NC; and Patty Jo Doby, of Durham, NC; her sister, Jeanette Strickland, also of Durham; two grandchildren, Laureneetzhold of Frisco, TX; and Nancy Leigh Doby of Northampton, MA; and one great-grandchild, Emily Betzhold. She was preceded ineeath by her husband, Jake, who died in 2001. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 4, in the Mausoleum at Woodlawneemorial Park. The Reverend Roland Jones will officiate. Friends may visit Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home.
