Virginia Madren Stone

Virginia Madren Stone, 92, died March 21, 2013. She was born October 25, 1920 in Caswell County to Ogburn Madren and Minee Apple Madren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Merle K. Stone, her son, James M. Stone, three sisters, and two brothers. She was a graduate of Anderson High School and the Watts Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to starting a family, she was a registered nurse at Duke Hospital, now DUMC. She enjoyed gardening and reading. Virginia is survived by a son, William M. Stone, of Cornelius, NC, a daughter, Mary Ellen Stone, of Virginia Beach, VA, her daughter-in-law, Carol B. Stone, of Raleigh, NC, two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a niece, Alice M. Reavis, of Burlington, NC, and a dear family friend, Vickie Terrell. The family would like to thank Franee Perry for her guidance and support. In accordance with Virginia's wishes, there will be no funeral service. There will be a private interment at a later date.
